Creativity Chronicles

I started this blog several months ago with a much different picture in my mind of what its purpose was and what I hoped to accomplish through writing it. That has changed so much recently that I’ve considered renaming the whole project and starting fresh with something else. I’ve continued to work on my creativity, through e-courses, a telecourse and even a good old-fashioned book with weekly tasks.  The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron has been a staple of my life for the past 6 weeks and I’ve been writing 3 pages long hand every day during this time. Because the writing that I’ve been doing is so personal  it feels somewhat strange to be writing this blog again and yet I feel that it’s still important.

My neighbor who is an artist is illustrating a book that I’ve worked on for a very long time and I’m planning to self-publish it as soon as it’s complete, either through Amazon Direct Publishing for Kids or Book Baby. This has been a long-term dream of mine and I’m really looking forward to seeing it come to completion.

The teleclass Coming Home to Your Spirit with Martha Beck and Lissa Rankin was phenomenal. I’ve been able to maintain contact with some of the like-minded souls who were part of this magical experience.

I’m currently listening to the Free Range Festival hosted by the always inspiring Marianne Cantwell and really loving it. It’s been such fun to listen to all of the speakers and my only regret is that I’m working during the time of the live calls and can’t call in with my own questions.

I hope that all of you who are exploring your own creativity are finding ways to keep it fresh and motivating. It sometimes seems like a lot of work but I believe it’s worth it! Let me know what new things you’re trying and which “old” things you’re up to also!
